September
is now
upon us
The
sheets
of the
calendar
are
turned
How
swiftly
the
months
are
slipping
away
The
memories
of
summer
are
burned.

The
schoolbooks
again
are
reopened
The
pages of
life
pass us
by
The
season
of
knowledge
is upon
us
The
summer
sun is
nigh.

The
laughter
of
summer
has
passed
away
Just an
echo of
days
gone by
On the
wings of
yesterday
it flew
With a
warm and
sultry
sigh.

The dew
clings
glistening
upon the
grass
Shadows
of
summer
draw to
a close
How
silently
the
seasons
of life
pass us
by
Gentle
petals
softly
fall
from the
rose.

September
struggled
to reach
us
It
succumbed
to
victory's
call
Arriving
in a
state of
confusion
Torn
between
the
clutches
of
summer
and
fall.
