NO WONDER
No wonder angels came first to
the shepherds,
Announcing to earth, "The Good
Shepherd is here!"
No wonder that great host of
heavenly beings,
Appeared as a choir, sang loud
and clear.
Peace on the earth! Beloved
children, sing it!
Joy to the World! 'Twill
never be the same!
Good will to men, from the
heart of creation,
All given in the sweet
Savior's name!

It wasn’t to the palace of
great Herod
Or to the high priest of
Sanhedrin.
Not even sent to Pilate's
royal quarters;
It was to simple, tender
hearted, men.

A simple man, who’d go to find
the lost sheep
Even in the darkest part of
night ~
With voice that little lambs
all would respond to.
The Good Shepherd's voice and
the warmth of His light!

For, Jesus, while here, always
sought the lost sheep
And, still, if your heart
tunes in just right,
You’ll hear the call, “Come
home, lost lamb. I love you!”
Just answer and feel His arm
'round you tight!

"Good Shepherd, come. I am
weary of darkness!
Wolves howl beside me. I need
Thy light!
Good Shepherd. Yes, I know
and feel You love me.
Carry me back to Thy safe fold
tonight!"

Peace on the earth! Oh,
beloved, let's sing it!
Joy to the World that will not
be the same!
Good will to men sent to us
from our Father;
Everything given in the sweet
Shepherd's name...
All given in the Lamb of
Calvary's shame!
